Death
A skeletal figure in dark armour rides a white horse beneath a rising sun, passing kings and commoners alike who fall before it. Death is the card of necessary endings, of transformation that clears the ground for something new.

Death upright meaning
Something in your life has run its course and is ready to end, and resisting that ending will only prolong the discomfort. This is rarely a literal card, more often pointing to the close of a chapter that clears space for what comes next. Let it go rather than trying to preserve it.
Death reversed meaning
You are resisting a change that has already begun, holding onto something out of fear rather than genuine attachment. This can prolong a difficult transition unnecessarily. The ending you are avoiding is likely the very thing that would bring relief.
Love and relationships
A relationship, or a particular phase of one, may be reaching a natural close. This is not always negative, it can equally mark the end of an old dynamic within a relationship that continues, replaced by something more honest.
Career and work
A role, project, or way of working is ending, making room for something better suited to who you have become. Resisting this transition will only delay the clarity it is trying to offer you.
Money
A financial habit, source of income, or way of managing money is coming to a natural end. This clears the way for a more sustainable approach, even if the transition feels uncomfortable in the short term.
As feelings
Someone's feelings are undergoing real change, whether growing, fading, or transforming into something different from before. This is not a moment for assuming things will stay as they are.
As intentions
They are in the middle of their own transformation and may not yet know exactly what they want, including where you fit into what comes next. Give this process room rather than demanding certainty now.
Advice
Let the ending happen rather than fighting it. What feels like loss now is very often the clearing that allows something more honest and better suited to you to take root.
Yes or no
No. This chapter needs to end before anything new can genuinely begin.
In past, present and future positions
Past
A significant ending, one that felt difficult at the time, cleared space for the person you have since become.
Present
You are in the middle of a transformation, one that requires letting go before the next stage can take shape.
Future
An ending is approaching that will feel disorienting at first but will ultimately open the way to renewal.
